Each month, we select a delicious trio of products from our offerings and share more about why we love them.
For the month of May, we have selected a classic french goat’s cheese – Saint Maure de Touraine as our cheese of the month. Coming in an unconventional rolled log shape, the soft and creamy cheese is easily recognised by both its shape and the long straw in the middle. The cheese has buttery aromas of walnut, as well as a slightly salty taste and a nuanced tangy-tart finish.
For our Accompaniment of the month, we have handpicked our very own Fig & Port jam. One of our trio of private label cheese accompaniments specially created for our deli, the jam is rich and sweet with the textural crunch of dried figs. It goes great with stilton and strong blue cheeses. Additionally, it can be spread on a cracker or fresh bread with some soft goat cheese (such as Saint Maure) to make a quick and delicious canape.
Last but not the least, we have a Sancerre from historically renowned wine producer Alphonse Mellot: Alphonse Mellot La Moussiere Sancerre.
Made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, this white wine has a medium body that is heavier than most whites, and has flowery and fruity notes on the nose, with hints of vanilla. On the palate, it has an oaky, long-lasting and refined finish.
