Our April Picks

Each month, we select a delicious trio of products from our offerings and share more about why we love them.

For the month of April, we have selected beloved classics that are not only a great addition to dining tables on their own, but also complement each other perfectly.

Cheddar Montgomery

Our cheese of the month is Cheddar Montgomery, one of the few truly traditional, handmade, unpasteurized types of Cheddar produced by James Montgomery in Somerset, England, and it has a semi-hard, crumbly texture. Its flavour has fruity and nutty notes that go well with our private label Pear & Raisin Chutney, which is sweet and spicy.

Pear & Raisin Chutney

The chutney, which is our accompaniment of the month, combines the fruity flavours of pear and raisin with traditional spices, capsicum, onion and garlic, and besides pairing with cheddar, also goes well with a country-style terrine.

Rounding off the trio is our wine of the month – Majella Cabernet Sauvignon –  an elegant red wine that has vibrant blackcurrant and red currant fruit notes on the palate, set within fine silky tannin.

Hailing from Australia, this new world wine goes well with hearty barbecued rubs, lamb stew, and also of course, cheeses such as cheddar.

Try all of them at our Mandarin Gallery outlet! Alternatively, the items are also available separately for retail at our delis, and retail outlets.
